Hi - I am trying to help a college student who imported converted DNxHD proxys without the ALE. She wants to conform to the original R3Ds for grading in Scratch.

Avid assigned each clip without a tape name and a beginning timecode of 01:00:00:00. She tried earlier to replace the timecode manually and had to assign a tape name which she gave as A001.

Any ideas? Or will she have to copy over everything manually?

thnx,

noel

How long is the film? Unless it's a feature, I would recommend clean printing the old fashioned way. Re-import all the source footage CORRECTLY, and literally cut over the top of it by eye-matching. Fastest way to get the numbers right. We used to have to do this all the time when we would be working from unmarked VHS dailies. Very doable.

What would be the proper way to transfer your media between Avid workstations?

reimport the online footage with metadata

then you should set new the source by tape name. before that, you give manually the old files a correct tape name. if that is done you can relink. read also a little bit the whitepaper:
