how to find films in pre production

[s. swift]

Hello everybody I just have a questioin, about finding films that are in pre production.

where can I find listings of films that are in pre production.

variety and the hollywood reporter only have limited listings, that - from what I see on their websites - don't have listings for the end of this year and 2011.

I know there are ones on imdb, but there all indirect - not grouped together on one listing other than imdb pro which you have to pay for and subscibe.

I'm really interested in acquiring this information so thanks for any help.

To my knowledge there is no such public list, it is generally film agencies that collate information like that. I'm not sure about Hollywood. The trade papers do give some information, as you said, but details are brief.

Depends on where you want information from...Hollywood, or elsewhere. If it is elsewhere it is usually localised film agencies that have the information. Or various talent agencies will know what is going and where but may not tell you.

A lot of times they don't make public a lot of information.

Get chummy with an agent or producer.

Often the Mayor's office here in NYC gets a heads up of upcoming productions.

breakdown services would be a good place - films that are casting are presumably in preproduction.
