Hey,
I run a production company out in NZ and we make a lot of music videos using the RED. The plugins for Premier and AE have been a major help but I prefer the grade advantage of REDCine... though REDCine doesn't allow me to export more than 800 frames at a time before crashing... haven't got to the bottom of that yet.
Being music videos there is a lot of post work in terms of edit, composite and grade... at the moment it seems like the best workflow for my team would be an edit in premier, exporting to REDCine for grade, outputting to ProResHQ or cineform or whatever has the widest colorspace and compositing in AE...
I'm asking for help as to how to realize this... as the edit in premier/import to AE works great but is only really for compositing as the grading options don't manipulate the footage like REDCine does.
The final cut route would be fine too but only for a basic cut then to REDCine and into AE.
I understand the files/metadata manipulation etc and am not that interested in a technical discussion about file types etc I just want to cut, grade and composite in 3 different programs.
Basically I'm asking how I can cut in either FCP or Premier, grade in REDCine and composite in AE... as easy as poss.
Any help from you guys would be a major help.
Best
Tim
