HOW TO ELIMINATE LETTERBOXING

Hi guys,

Just trying to get some help into eliminating letter boxing when editing between 4.5K , 4K , and 3K WS in FCPX ? The end result would be zero letterboxing on the timeline ?

Are you editing for cinema release or for video/online? For cinema you set a timeline resolution with a scope aspect ratio. For video and online As far as I know the only option is 16:9, which means you either get black bars on top and bottom or you have to scale all you footage to fit the height and crop the sides off.

Set project aspect ratio to 2.40:1
Drop on timeline 4.5k, 4k and 3K WS clips
Select one clip and see what happen when you change "fit" or "fill" in video inspector tab (far down)
