  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How soon until the SDK is released?

Is the Red SDK still scheduled for release in July?

Before august 1st.

Big question is if all vendors will

a) get access to the @raw@ r3d's like Assimilate has

or if they

b) will have to go through a translation layer.

In case of b... Assimilate may have made their 15 minutes of total fame, while Red may...

Just my 2c

Hey Red, will the SDK be a command line app or a DLL?

Before august 1st.

Really?

I would expect a delay after all the Build 16 codec error bug squishin' -

But then again, nobody sleeps over there -

any update Red Team?

If that's true - I guess we will have audio in Redline, RedRender, Redrushes pretty damn quick - cause - I doubt you will see an SDK before you get full audio support.

Mark, you're up at 5am and the first thing you did was get coffee or go straight to REDuser?

Mark I have it on pretty good authority that the Codec issues did NOT affect the release schedule of the SDK. This was a question of mine as well. Great minds think alike.

As for the support the SDK offers, I was also worried about direct access to the R3D and I was told "you will have everything you need". So I think we are good to go there as well.

Native R3D support in Adobe products = "the tipping point" of RED post workflows

the day you can pull a key direct from an R3D in AE .... well ... folks are going to go bonkers!

Yep I gotta agree, full native .r3d support in Adobe products would certainly put a big smile on my face!

The SDK was scheduled for April and had been moved back to pre-August 1st.

Yes.

And cineform r3draw for realtime 4K desktop editing with clever metadata.
