How scarlet could break away - focus ideas

Hi all,

although my camera has been stolen. I have experimented with focus and my new side handle.

Nice features, though it could be much more.

As the firmware can pull focus. Why is there no option to implement the following features just
by adding the following functions to be programmable on the side handle :

a) move focus out
b) move focus in

or enable the wheel to do it

(there are options in the menu, but do not work)

And then saving focus points eg.

Store to buttons A,B,C,D actual focus position
press on 1,2,3

1) next focus point A=>B=>C=>D
2) previous focus point D=>C=>B=>A
3) change speed from 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x

I dont't think this will be a lot of work to enable this for scarlet and epic. It could make sure, Red brakes away from C300 and to be announced cameras.

I know, this can never replace a good assistant - still maybe it gets so good, that red changes the industrie again ?

Oh how much I long for this since the announcements of scarlet.
I love shot transition modes. They are really helpful in quite a few situations!
Sony has that in some fixed HD Cams like the HVR-V1

Yes they do and it is very useful...love to see focus, zoom and possibly other functions become programmablePCG
