  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How much will the I/O module cost?

Surely the "point" of Scarlet is to have an entry route into the Red family of products?

This only works if the entry level product is affordable, and I think these 5-figure guesses for mandatory add-ons are way off the mark.

The R1 tested the market and has apparently sold about 5,500 units to date. A functional S35 Scarlet, sans lens, for the same ballpark cost as the R1 probably isn't going to sell a whole lot more, and I think Red plans to sell a lot of Scarlets.

Accordingly, I reckon Stephen is probably right.

Do the brains have a single audio input? That would be sweet. If not, I would love another module besides the I/O module that lets me do audio.

For a run and gun doc style shooting experience, where I have no use for any video outputs or multiple audio inputs and I'm just using a single microphone into the camera, I would love a way to do that and keep the camera as SLIM as possible. I hope the brains have built in audio capabilities, and if they don't, I hope that there will be a slim audio module without the video output like the I/O module so I can keep my camera as slim as I possibly can with nothing on it that I don't need..
