Hello everyone quick question,

As the title says, how much weight can the v-dock on the +1 Adapter module handle?

I currently have the +1 adapter with a Gold mount plate attached. Then, I have a C-box converter attached to the Gold Mount and then a Dionic HC-X at the end. I've been running this setup for awhile and it hasn't been causing me issues, but I'm thinking about adding a gold mounted wireless transmitter into the mix but I'm afraid of damaging my camera.

I looked through the manual but there was no specified weight limit to place on the V-dock mount on the back of the +1 Adapter.

I have rails and/or mounting spaces available on my camera, so there are other options if necessary, but I really like how quick and easy it is to build with Gold Mount modules so I would like to continue down that path. Plus, having the transmitter attached to the C-box means that I can run really short cables that are completely out of the way. (Huge plus!)

Any help that anyone can provide would be great! Thanks!

If the gold mount plate that is directly attached to the +1 adapter is screwed into the M4(?) holes, I would imagine you're in good shape, but that is a lot of weight on the end that you'll be expanding by another couple inches with the wireless sandwiched in there, no? If the AB plate on the +1 adapter is not screwed in, but just connected to the wedge/v-lock, I'd say you're tempting fate. The wedge/v-lock on the back of my epic started to come loose from using a quick release battery plate solution, and the build of weight and vibrations while in use surely contributed to the mounting of that wedge slowly coming undone.

Thanks for the response A. Clint Litton.

When I first got my +1 adapter it was already kind of loose, so I sent it back to RED and it's been fine ever since. But I am really worried about extending the fulcrum distance on the back of my camera.

Is is there a stringer way to mount to the camera initially? That might help alleviate the problem.

Hey Marcus

I had a similar situation / problem. I too have big 220wh bricks along with both a C box and the new power distribution box. At the time I did not have a +1 adapter.

The "V" part on the back of my camera began to loosen. I had to send the camera back to Red to have it repaired and was without it for almost two weeks.

I came up with a solution. I contacted the guys selling Tilta V lock battery plates on ebay, which have a cool quick release setup, and I was able to purchase the quick release plates separately.

I'll post some pics soon.

I have since added a +1 module. I modified the +1 module by taking it apart and removing the 4 bolts that attach it to the camera allowing me to bolt the female quick release plate from Tilta directly to the camera via 4 M4 bolts going through the +1 module.

So now I have a super solid setup with a heavy battery and both WC boxes hanging off the back of the camera secured by a solid QR plate that is bolted directly to the camera with 4 M4 screws.

It's a great setup.
