  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How many hours can you put on a Scarlet?

Mike.

Thousands and thousands... ;-) It's a solid state device, except for the fans; they'll need replacement sometime in the future, but it will still be the same Scarlet. You'll want to replace the sensor with a better one when the time comes, but it will remain the same Scarlet.
For the rest... Firmware updates will make it last forever... ;-)

OBSOLESCENCE OBSOLETE...!

I've got 210 hours so far and haven't even had a single issue

Last time I checked, over 400 hrs on my Scarlet. Not bad considering, I bought a DVX 100b in high school when they came out, it took 5 years for me to get 350 hrs on the drums when I sold it. Man how times have changed.

My set has a Scarlet with 650 hrs last time I checked...We calculated the shoot times and the weeks and it'll reach 1,000 by the end of this one job. The only problems so far were the lack of 1080 out without scaling until a few firmwares ago and a couple resets... Pretty solid

Haha, don't have my Scarlet in hands yet.
Reading Jon's words , i did sell my 2008 HVX200 few months ago , with 560h , but it did keep turned off inside the case for more than a year and a half.
