Hallo Everbody,

Maybe someone can help me with my questions.

I want to use a ScarletX with these components

MTF B4 to EF Adapter and a DSMC Red Motion Mount (because of ND) working on 2K (S16 Crop) with a Fujinon 17x7,6
Do you think i will loose to much light with these components ?
I tried the adapter and the Fujinon Lens on a C100 and it worked very well.

We can't deliever our client RAW Footage so i thought to work with this new little CFAst Atomos HDMI Recorder. Do you think this will work ?

Thanks a lot for your attention.

I'd highly recommend a 2K camera if that is what you will be doing with Scarlet. Sure the dynamic range of Scarlet X will be higher (than a c100/300), but your images will be very soft and not great looking. You will also need more light because noise is magnified at 2K. At 2K you can not shoot in low light cleanly with Scarlet. So that is another downside.

Honestly, if you don't need RAW and you're planning on working in 2K only then save some money and get a C100... It also is far superior in low light.

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for your answers. Help me a lot. We already have a C100 and we tested it with the MTF adapter. It worked well with the only minus that you can't use the extender on the lens. But for our TV Broadcast Clients the footage worked well.
But we do have a lot of fictional and commercial jobs and here we do have a problem with the C100. For this jobs we want to invest in a Red Scarlet. So i tried to find a way to use one camera for both working situations.

This is something I have also been thinking of with reference to the scarlet dragon, would the denser pixel + i am assuming with the adapter the b4 lens should be covering 3k. Also potentially lower compression ratios make this idea viable ?

Cheers
Ian
