  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How fast is the Red Station CF ?

USB3, FW800, eSATA, doesn't matter when it comes to CF cards... No CF card is fast enough to saturate any one of those interfaces. Get whichever one fits you the best. The RED Station CF module is expensive, but well made and probably the best one out there if you're happy with eSATA, FW800 and USB2.0 interfaces. The USB2.0 is the only connection not fast enough to keep up with the fast CF cards. Personally, I like the Lexar readers a lot and the SanDisk ones have treated me well too. If I were buying one now, I'd probably go with the Lexar or SanDisk USB3 units. I kinda wish RED had a CF version of their RED STATION MINI reader. But I understand where they probably don't want to go down that road at this point. And CF is on its way out, not just for RED, but for the entire industry.
