One thing I think people have missed regarding the Tattoo program is that it, like all things RED, has changed over time. All the prototype cameras that have been up and shooting since just before NAB are "tattoo" cameras. As Tattoo has progressed, we learned that RED is not making as many "tattoo" cameras as they had originally planned and those cameras are not, as of yet, or possibly ever, going to go to permanent owners outside of RED. HDRx was announced a few weeks back as something that we would see on our Epic cameras *after* the cameras shipped, as an update. Well, RED seems very focused on its development right now and has just released the first public HDRx clip last night. To me, this says that the actual release of Epic and the whole Stage-2 process is a lot closer than many people think. Of course, it's speculation, but I still expect Stage-2 for Epic-X to be in full swing by the end of this year. OTOH, if it slips into next year, I won't blink twice. It just is what it is and I know it's going to be worth the wait, even if that wait is another 2 months or 6...
