I'm going to predict that I'll get my shipping notice 1 week after Halloween

I'm still expecting Stage-2 to kick off in October... That was my guess before "the bug", but I was also planning on some sort of drama like that. Hopefully I'm right I really need to get my hands on these before the end of the year! Lots of winter stuff I want to shoot in 5K. :)

The poll would be easier to guess if we knew how they will ship. Will they ship 100 at a time... 1000? ... all? Red is teaching me patience. And thanks to a certain Italian gentleman, I now have the serenity of assuredness of affordability of my first Epic. (The second one is still a little up in the air, but I have confidence.) I will wait for further hints from RED Dog Alpha before making a guess.

I think I remember Jim saying in his last session that it was about to commence.

So that would mean 3 months out from Tattoo commencing which means Mark L. is right and we're about 120 days away...

Probably so, but I still would like to know if that is just a small first release or a big batch. For many of us, that is critical.

I would feel better about three months out if I could see a picture of the new-sized brain.

edit: wonder if Snake Oil has been resized.

I hope they keep trying to make it smaller. I know it's probably asking a lot - but small cameras have so much going for them.

@ Joel,

I think I remember reading during the bug bite that they were going to have to add an inch or more to the brain?... or maybe it was another of the Epic modules.

I think the real question is the Epic assembly line's output capacity. Twenty Epics a day? A hundred? Five hundred? Satisfying the huge demand for Cameras and accessories is going to have more impact than the date of the first Stage II out the door.
I tend to agree. But I wonder if, and once they are satisfied with the Tatoo form factor, they won't start production while Tatoo is putting firmware tweaks through their paces. If this be the case, they could have many cameras ready for an initial release. But understandably, they may want to get a feel for things with a hundred or so for a test of concept.

I think Jim said at one point they were looking at the line being able to produce 700 a month, so twenty to thirty per day depending on whether the factory runs non stop.

Make that 250 or so and I'd be a happy camper. (I'm 206) :-)
