Read the manual went through menu and need to program user key number one on epic to set white balance. We are not using the side handle on the camera.

Can anyone tell me which steps in menu to program the user 1 or 2 key for that.

Thanks,
Frazier ..

User key 1 to calculate white balance.

Settings>Setup>Keys

Tried that, which setting under Keys is USER button one on the front of EPIC? Just updated the firmware on EPIC..doing black shading now..gotta figure out the exact steps.

by default it is not assigned, according to the manual...

Handy, but would love to have this as an option... instead of default.

Also, does it work when rolling? Might be a nice safety function for this to not work while recording.

I wondered the same thing. I see how to change the setting for "Button 3". It is under "SETTINGS > SETUP > KEYS / SHORTCUTS > Side CF Function 3 Button Down (press 1 and 2 together)". But I haven't figured out how to configure Function 1 and Function 2 individually.

I just assumed it was something that would be enabled in a future firmware.

Maybe this is not possible, I thought someone would have an answer for this one...saw that you could unmount the SSD's by holding down both buttons/same time.

But we need to be able to assign calculate white balance button to user button 1 on the front of EPIC.

We found that we were able to assign the calc white balance to the touchscreen up or down arrow which helps a bit but we had rather it be user button 1 on EPICM. Anyone out there have an answer for this and a suggestion?

Why not using one of the EVF or LCD buttons for this?

Already programmed the LCD Arrow up key for calc white balance, would be nice to be able to program user button one on front of EPIC as a backup, soon REDMOTE will be housed and we'll have even better control.

But we are using EPIC underwater and the housing control at the front would be nice to have as another backup.

Any update on this? - are the Epic user 1 & 2 front buttons programmable yet or is this something that will be enabled in a future firmware update ? - I am not saying it's urgent but would be great to know, whether it is enabled or not yet. I find that pressing both user buttons ejects the media but either on its own seems to do nothing. Maybe I am missing something and the buttons are called something different in the Keys/ Shortcuts menu?

I find the same thing. No idea why. Quite frustrating.

We want to run without the side handle... it doesn't seem to make sense that those buttons would not be programmable.

This was just driving me nuts!! i kept looking for user 1 and user 2 in the shortcut keys menu and they are not there.....I would really like to know why.

User buttons 1 + 2 are not programmable yet. Coming soon.

what about the redmote buttons? anyone?
