  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

how do you practically shoot at 5000K?

I go 80D. 2/3 of a stop (so 200 ASA with) loss is not terrible and that filter gets you most of the way there. I think it really makes a difference.
The idea about desaturating the shadows is a good one. Also, Sony and Panasonic cameras offer some control over detail in the shadows... so you can reduce detail enhancement and suppress noise that way.
Does Scratch have any ability in this regard? I know that RC sure doesn't...
Cheers,
Harry

"When you say ISO around 200 interior you mean this taking account
of the 1 stop loss because of the 80c filter or without "

ISO 200 with the 80c filter on camera .. it's little less then 1 stop loss ( 1 stop would be ISO 160) .. 200 works for me ...

So you set your lightmeter at 200 but on camera you keep 320
and 5000K , is this right ?

i set light meter to 200 ...
set camera to ISO 200 and color temp/white balance to 4400k .. depending on the mixed light in scene i might set camera balance at 3800k or 4400k ... most of time 4400k ...i do not do camera white balance ( let camera set white balance) ...

Ah! very interesting ! I am going to try your way ! Thank you
So far, I used the RED only outside, this is going to be interesting.

and test it without the 80c ..
just plain Tungsten setting 3200k , ISO 320 (keep keys on persons no lower then 3000k) ... adjust in RC to clean up blacks ...
test out to ? 1080p or 2k ... use projection to view final test ( tungsten vs.tungsten w/80c) ...

just wanted to say thanks. all of the input has been very helpful...even the gentleman who said i was an ESL.

cheers,
troy
