  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

If this is a stupid question, please forgive me im only 15, and i want to make sure what i get will work together nicely. I have seen pictures of the monitor mounted on top, and also the handle in the same spot, but not together. Is this possible? can i just mount the monitor and the handle together? Im a little confused and again, its probably a stupid question.

Hi Timothy,

what you need is a Nato Rail from Wooden Camera (150 mm) + 1 Clamp:

or the Swat Rail from RED (140mm) + 1 Clamp:

If you use a top handle from WC you need another clamp.

The quality of WC accessories is just as good as the RED products but way cheaper.
I use the WC Nato Rail and I'm happy with it.

If you are talking about the original top handle, it fits perfectly right into the cup of the 5 touch screen. You will need longer bolts. I had it like this and loved it. PLUS it does away with the n eed of buying a top spacer for the red one handle on the scarlet body.

If you use wooden camera's top handle you can mount the 5" touch on the front part of the handle with a single bolt. Also make sure to get a longer cable for the monitor, since the short one that comes with it is practically useless.

I have a wooden camera top handle and an easy plate attached to it. Picatinny rail and the swat adaptor with the monitor is a great combination.
The top handle is also on the swat adaptor. this makes setting up and switching around fast and easy.

yes you can just bolt it on:-)

However going from gig to gig, location to location, using picatinny rails helps a lot if it's within your budget.

I'm loving a lot my quick release by 16x9inc.

This is about as basic as you can build a Scarlet or EPIC...minus the top plate I have (which isn't necessary for this setup...

I always keep the LCD attached to the top handle. It cuts down on a lot of time building/taking apart your rig.

Here's how I mount the touch on the WC handle if I happen to want the monitor on top. Usually it's on a magic arm.
