  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How do i get funding?

what job pays 30 million a year?
Thanks Pawel very informative

You're welcome. It was well-intended, though.

Why not make a lower budget film? At any budget, it is easier to make the money than raise them from investors.

Of course, you can try the hard way....:mad2:

Just giving you realistic expectations.

It's probably best to at least Try to go the investors route, selling yourself and your movie is arguably the most important part of the filmmaking process.
No use making the next Citizen Kane if no one sees it.

it would seem these days that most movies have a bigger budget on advertising than the actual movie...makes sense in a way for max. financial gain but I wish it wasn't like that

Got a great story to tell about a famous bushranger that operated here in Australia. The bloke was quite famous in his time (1800"s) and his relatives have leaked some vital new information to me that will re-write the history books.
I would like to document the mans life as accurately as possible, the script is written, now... how do I ask for funding? This will be my first feature IF i get funding,...any tips on getting finance for the project would be appreciated.
Thanks

link to many avenues for funding ie: Film Finance Corporation Australia,Screen Australia,Australian Screen(believe it or not), Film Australia Limited, Australian Film Commission etc ....

Good luck with the treatment

it may be a worthy note that the Aus government (Fed and/or State) gives special attention to grants of historical importance

Spearfishing with Australia's best freedivers and the Abrolhos islands WA including historical facts about the Batavia shipwreck.
Those that are unaware of the Batavia story should check it out... a great movie is waiting for us film makers... the first diver on that site is a friend of mine...... Batavia is the ultimate maritime movie.......As Mike dash says, "The wreck of the Batavia makes the mutiny on the Bounty look like a children's picnic".... he's right check it out.... Batavia's Graveyard
