I have an opportunity to rent PL glass and a Scarlet PL mount, for an upcoming shoot on my currently Canonmount Scarlet. I would stil like to go wide with the tokina IF budget will only allow for a smaller PL package without the wide angle. Is the mount changout just a matter of remvoving the 4 allens or Torx? Or are there additional parts or procedures that would make the mount change a hassle in the field?

Worry free, It Just removing the 4 Torx + Back-focus adjustment (not a rocket science - lol).

Well thanks, and my apologies, as I had meant to post this on the Scarlet forum (posting from my phone, tiny screen buttons!). But thank you! Is a backfocus adjustment required upon changeout? Even if I do not intend to do focus pulling?

The backfocus only matters if your focus is off when you zoom in and out.

This is not accurate. Backfocus is off if the markings on the lens do not line up with actual distance measurements AND the lens's collimation is tested correct.

When a lens does not hold focus throughout the zoom, it's called varifocal and will happen regardless of backfocus.

is there a video describing how to do this? I am about to buy a pl mount for my scarlet and I have no idea how to set the backfocus

+1

Me and you are in the same boat Mike.
