How deep is the Hoodman 5.6"?

I'm trying to figure out if it would hit my face when the rig is on my shoulder?

I've only got the 12" LCD cable, and I can't move the LCD very far forward.

It does have very nice mounting options, and the side buttons are not obscured, from what I've heard.

I'm also considering the 3-sided hoodman:

I get the impression it would interfere with the buttons on the right of the LCD, but ... it might be possible to just mount the top with velcro and leave the sides free, or at least one side un-velcroed?

Would sure make using the touch screen easier when tripod mounted.

I don't have a tape measure on me, but it's about half an inch shorter (shallower) than the 5" Touchscreen is wide (from left to right).

Does that make sense?
