OK , not double..but

According to my currency calculations.. creative cloud costs $72 approx if you pay in sterling (as apposed to $50 approx if paying in dollars)

.. even taking into account taxes and duties, international financial incompetence etc .. there's nothing makes me feel less creative, and competitive, than being charged more than someone else for the same product ..

whats the deal, can people in the uk pay in dollars? I have no problem paying in dollars, as my exchange rate is different than yours..

if not ill personally skip it until the pricing equalizes out a bit

When the price for a product is the same in Sterling and Dollars, its time for the creative crowd to complain IMO

Conrad, in my experience everything in the UK and Europe is almost double what it is in the US and I have never been able to understand why and the most popular explanation has always been the taxes. Like I buy a pair of jeans in the US for 35 to 40 Dollars, I find the same pair in the UK for 35 to 40 Pounds or 56 to 64 dollars so I buy stuff in the US instead of the UK. I am not so sure you are going to be able to fight the system so your best bet might be to beat it, to find a way to pay directly in the US or find a proxy in the us who will on your behalf, afterall it is the same access just your location happens to be in the UK. I am not sure though what effect this will have on your taxes or other financial with UK laws or for that matter creative clouds's terms of sale so best to check this first before taking action. Good luck.

In Australia, I understand our ACCC is going to have a bit of a dig to find out why the same sort of thing is happening in Australia for a few software products for on the surface of things it might amount to price fixing or anti-competitive behaviour. It might just be a case of they do it because they can. There is a 10% goods and services tax within Australia but this does not seem to account for the price mark-up applied. In Australia, some vendors, which operate local branches and on-line stores prevent access to their US sites.

i realise every business has the right to try and leverage as much cash as they can from customer.. im just saying im happy to be vocal about the price difference and not buy their product.. which i think is reasonable behaviour ;)

the truth is the uk has few resources, an over population and can little afford to pay inflated prices.. unfortunately its proving difficult finding the politicians who are prepared to explain the true extent of this to the population..who, in general, seem apathetic unless something truly trivial happens..anyway

There are still massive financial storms heading for europe and uk, so im thinking Adobe has it wrong if they thing ill pay an over inflated direct debit monthly without an honest explanation
