How can I fix/tweak Le Bomb with some LUTs or something? Is it possible?

I think the viewfinder is too bright for my style of filming. I know I shall look at the histogram for exposure, and that's what I usually do. But in hectic situations I find myself sometimes underexposing shots, because of the bright viewfinder. So for me it wouldn't hurt if the Bomb viewfinder reflected the histograms better.

I find that the brightness settings don't do exactly what I want. I would rather have a curve, which crushes the blacks a little bit (to make it ressemble DragonGamma in Redcine), and maybe some color correction.

Of course I could change the Shadow settings like some of us do, and then reset it back in Redcine, but I would like to keep those RAW settings at default so that editors don't mess up too much with the settings.

How would one go about doing this? I don't know how to create LUTs or anything. Hasn't anyone the same need for a more precise viewfinder? Maybe someone already has a LUT for this?

I don't think it has to ne aces. I think you can send a look file down Any pipe you like.

David, so the procedure would be to create a curve in Redcine. Import that into camera. And I will be able to put that curve JUST on the EVF signal, without it being seen on the LCD nor on the recorded RAW file nor on the live histogram?

Hmm... doesn't seem like it. I can only choose between Neutral and Graded curve, whatever does two mean.

Which FW are you on?


MENU>SETTINGS>LOOK>CURVES.

you can set this and this is the look you will see in the monitor. This will also be applied to your R3D images though.

OR

Export a LOOK file from RCX place it on and SSD and then IMPORT that file into your camera and this will also end up on your R3D.

The problem here is that he/I/we do not want a compensation-LUT to be the sidecar-file to an R3D.

But I thought it was possible to apply individual curves to different outputs these days (he said without having had the need to do so. Yet

The aces proxy is for sending a signal that is going to go through a LUT box or 3d Party device that will apply an ACES compatible LUT on that signal path to an EXTERNAL monitor via the HDMI or the HD-SDI output. It than also places a flag on the R3D file to indicate that an ACES proxy was used.

The R3D file records whatever built in RED LOOK you have selected in the window. ACES does not apply to your EVF or your TOUCHSCREEN.
