How are you watching your 4K footage on a 4K UHD TV

I'm using Mac's 5k cinema display. Pure gold. Looking forward to when we author and burn our own 4K Blu-Ray's. Probably be a year or two if ever.

Media server via Local area network via Ethernet or flash drive in a pinch. Had speed trouble my Synology NAS, stuttered playback. Setup a server on a MacMini. All good now.

What codec do you use to play back from a drive?

flash drive encoded with handbrake or decklink 4K

Use x265 and encode the content and playback on a USB drive. You will need to much into a TS (tsmuxer) or MP4 (MP4 box) encode some audio, even if just silence. If not, the display will complain about missing audio.

I'll be honest....i've not seen it yet! I spec'd the system for a client (i did see the screen at BVE in London and had a chat with BenQ) and yet to see it in action with their content yet. We've got a Klein K10-A w/SpectraCal, so i'm hoping they'll ask for it to be calibrated, then i can pop over and check it out. It looked pretty good at BVE though. The hood is also included as standard. Just getting hold of them is the issue!

Mini Monitor 4K > Sony 850D. Calibration LUT inside app (RCX, PR, Resolve). Or my Dell laptop...or my theater at home :biggrin5:
