How are the 8g Lexar 300x cards working for people

Got 3 from SS shoot.

Worked great on one shoot...

then (and I'd love some help from someone!!)...on my next shoot I could not get them to record in 4k. 3k was max.

Any ideas? I reformatted a number of times. I tried recording on them even when it said "media not right for this project" or too slow or whatever the message was.

Any one know what I did wrong?

Maybe trying to shoot at Redcode 36 at too high a framerate? Try redcode 28 instead..

On another note, it seems like "fast enough" 16Gb cards have been "around the corner" for well over a year now - looks like we are shooting to 8Gb cards for a while still...

8 Gb Lexar 300x cards work fine for me.. got two and they work at all speeds and formats. Until red blocks those cards in a new build they will work fine.

How exactly would RED block those cards?

The RED cards are made by Lexar.

What build was that? I know that there was one specific update that disabled some CF cards, but the next update fixed that and it has worked since then.

This could be the problem--I was definitely on the most recent build for 1st shoot. Then the camera rented for a week before I did the 2nd shoot. I can't see why they'd have gone back to previous builds, but...

Its out again, I'll check on Monday.
