I have heard a lot of users are shooting with the Lexar cards that are presumed to be the same as the red cards. When the red CF cards came out they were cheaper then the lexar ones but have not gone down in price since and now the lexar ones are cheaper.

I would like to hear what kind of success Lexar card users have been having. Does anyone know who has the best online price of the Lexar 8g 300X cards right now?

Finner, bought some Lexar from SSoderbergh shoots. Find nothing wrong with them. Lim

I've got 2 of 'em and 2 Red ones, they all seem to be working great. My Lexar ones are from very different batches. One purchased a year ago and another purchased last week. I got some from Amazon (actually came from camita camera) for $164 us

Hello,

Weird. I couldn't get my Lexar 300x UDMA 8gig card to work. It would format, but then it wouldn't mount.

Best,

ATF

I got 10 from the Soderbergh batch and they all work great. No problems yet.

There was a big rebate in April that got new ones down to $90. I'm sure that there will be another one.

EDIT:

See below. You can still get them for $89.95 after rebate at Adorama and maybe less at others. Note that it is limited to 3 per household.

Thanks!

Does anyone think the 16g are really close so it's worth holding out for those instead of picking up the 8g? I'm waiting for my birger mount, so it's not like i need it now. :) i'm going to use my red drive in the meantime.

10 from SS shoot have worked perfectly and have recorded up to 96FPS on them.

B&H have it for $163, minus 80 rebate, makes it $83

I saw the 300x for $199 on B&H minus the $80 rebate. The $163 lexar card on B&H was the 133x which I believe is to slow.

96? I thought cf cards can do better? 113?

I only report what I have actually tried and done. 113 might actually be possible. I just have not actually tried 113.

I will though, next time I fire up the varispeed.

Used the 8gig UDMA 300x lexars, got 2 of em with the rebate deal... works fine at 113fps..

Got 3 from SS shoot.

Worked great on one shoot...

then (and I'd love some help from someone!!)...on my next shoot I could not get them to record in 4k. 3k was max.

Any ideas? I reformatted a number of times. I tried recording on them even when it said "media not right for this project" or too slow or whatever the message was.

Any one know what I did wrong?
