  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How are people getting multiple HDMI-SDI signals out of SCARLET? Or are they??

There's this thread - http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?67232-Scarlet-HDMI-SDI-Simultaneous-Operation

But it doesn't seem to answer the questions quite clearly.

1) Will HDMI/HD-SDI be simultaneously available for SCARLET? This isn't in the 3.2.8 beta build by any chance, is it?

2) if not - what are people using to split the signal from either output?

If not splitting, are they just running the signal from camera to monitor in to secondary monitor out?

would this work? - http://www.markertek.com/Routers-Switchers-DA's/HD-SDI-Distribution-Amplifiers/Kramer/VM-2HD.xhtml

I'm just trying to get a SmallHD monitor and a JVC 24'' monitor working at the same time?

I just don't know if the SCARLET signal matches any of these SMPTE specs, to work with the signal splitter - anyone?

INPUT: 1 SMPTE-259M, 292M, 344M serial video, 75 ohms on a BNC connector
OUTPUTS: 2 equalized and reclocked
SMPTE-259M, 292M, 344M outputs 75 ohms on BNC connectors

Hi Meryem-
I'm assuming that if you're looking at an HD-SDI splitter you've got the SDI SmallHD like me, in which case you've got loop through built in to the monitor. So HD-SDI from the Scarlet to the SmallHD SDI in, and then another BNC from the SmallHD SDI out to the JVC preview monitor. Been working fine for me. (I'm actually then going into a BlackMagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle to convert to an HDMI preview monitor, but it doesn't sound like you'll need that step.) Hope that helps.
Peace,

-Harry

We tried that - but it didn't work - good to know it is working for you, though - I'll try it again when we break and see if I am missing something, bad cable or loose connection or something in the signal chain. Thanks, Harry, that is a good data point.
