  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How about using Dell UltraSharp UP2414Q as a field monitor?

Im just thinking, if I use a blackmagick 4K (SDI) to HDMi adapter from my scarlet to the Dell 24UHD screen.. do you think that would work as a simple but "good enough" solution for a field monitor…

What do you guys think?

Well…you can't get a 4k live signal out of your scarlet without a dragon upgrade and the new 4k module…if that's what your intent is. Your max output resolution is 1080p SDI and/or HDMI out.

Even if there were native 4K output from the camera, the 24" Dell would make for a crappy "field monitor."

I'd go for a decent 1080p monitor that's designed for field use (meaning it's rugged, even battery-powered) and at a size you can wrangle with your style of production. 24" monitors belong on a cart or table, IMO.

Oh, of course.. thats true, no 4K output -forgot that. And I agree Jeff, flexibility on field is just as important as nice screen. Hm..Ill have to search for a good alternative. Thanks for your input guys!
