Are there any sub 500 options for hotswap vmount plates that hold a charge when the battery is off? Not interested in plates that hold 2 batteries as that would be too heavy.

tilta makes one, my friend has it

I don't remember the price but the Jetpack-X holds a charge for about 5 minutes I think.

I've got one but I don't use it that much because its a bit on the heavy side and I have lighter options. But when I need hot swap, that's my go too battery plate.

P-Tap to DC In with V-mounts that have P-Tap outs. Plug the cable between new battery and brain's DC IN and switch battery. Remove cable once new v-mount is correctly seated.

But the brain only has one DC in. Or I'm most likely misunderstanding you

Ah, your plate uses the camera's DC IN? In that case your best bet IMO is to find a used Action Product Electra and v-lock plate. Our company has a couple and they work great. The Bebop (http://bebob.de/en/ml-120epic.html) plate works great as well and is still in production.

I just bought the Blueshape MVquick from Adorama, I'll let y'all know how it works out once I get it

I've been eying that for a while too. Please let us know. Thanks!

I personally do the sidehandle hotswap. But depends if you want to have a side handle or not. Another option I do occasionally is have a dual or quad battery module on the back with a v-lock attached. Lots of options out there including the jetpack hotswap adapter.

Finally got the MVquick delivered, working nicely. It's smaller than a RED brick and built well. Took awhile to get shipped from Adorama

So give us a rundown on how it works. Does it passthrough power from your brick and when it's depleted it switches over to internal? Also, do we get runtime or voltage on the monitor. There's also the confusing button on the side...what does that do lol.

Exactly what it does. Also it recharged itself from my fresh batt after hotswap.

Doesn't pass battery info through my plate, just voltage, but I read that a Blueshape brand plate will do percentage.

The button toggles that function. You need a thin rod tool to adjust it, it's set back in a pocket.
