  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

hot swap sata card..

if your SATA controller supports Hot Swapping, you will be able to eject the device like you do with USB drives. The support for hot swap is independent of the support for a 150MB/sec or 300MB/sec transfer rate.

what controller card to you currently use, and are you talking about an express card adapter or a PCIe card?

I have a HighPoint 2314 eSATA card, never had issues with it, has been a good performer.

As a suggested replacement I feel confident in the HP 2314. I did have to install a driver for it I believe, for use in my MacPro.

I haven't gotten to the point of building my Hackintosh yet, so I have no idea of any potential issues there.

Didn't you have someone build your system for you? Or did you build it yourself? Maybe worth a call to contact them again for their opinion as well.

Good luck man.
