Last year I posted some screen grabs and a teaser to this film.

Here is a trailer I cut for my own purposes. The film was released in the US in cinema's and now available on iTunes (US store only) under the name 'The Lullaby' and not 'Siembamba' which is the name it has locally

Shot on Red Dragon and Cooke S4's

Kind regards

Justus

Your work has such a distinctive look and is so beautifully shot. Love the colors, composition/framing.... I'm a fan. Would love to learn from you. Do you ever work in the States?

Hi Carlos

Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately I have not yet had the good fortune to work over in the states. Would love to though. Here we always have to make things work on the smallest of budgets in comparison. I would love to do something that has a budget of more than $500K for once :)

Kind regards

Justus

"...chaos can have some advantages. It forces [you] to think fast and improvise, seizing on unforeseen opportunities." Alexander Mackendrick. Mackendrick taught his students about doing the best that you can with what you have, and you're certainly doing that despite not working with huge budgets.

Have you shot with the Helium sensor and do you prefer the Dragon?

Thanks

I’m still on Dragon at the moment. Didn’t make sense to me upgrading to 8K when we are barely allowed to shoot 5K here because of budgets. Plus the Dragon still does the trick really. Gemini...Now that is a camera that makes sense to me and i ‘m certainly considering stepping up to...
