Home made solution-Mini XLR to standard

We needed a robust solution to sound guys plugging in and out several times a day. My brother built the mini XLR to standard XLR connection in this small box which he bolted to the side handle. When shooting we use a second side handle close to the mini XLR outlets to protect them.

I love it! The only thing I would have to do is put it on the outside of the side handle since my ET breakout box goes there.

Let me guess..the whole thing cost about $75?

Hi Matthew

Yes it would have to be mounted on the outside if you are using the breakout box, which adds about an inch. We were lucky and found a mains/12V 19in LCD TV and only require the HDMI output.

All the parts came to about £45 so you are not far off your estimate plus someone's time to put it together.
