take a look at this shot and tell me what is wrong?

http://point-blank.tv/whatsupwiththefridge.mov

Real time playback looks ok. Scroll through it back n forth and you will see a band of dark n light all over the fridge/entire frame. Natural daylight and a 4k par are lighting the room. 4k is powered buy a crystal sync honda putput. The geni only had enough power for the 4k. At some point something else was plugged into it. Then unpluged. Shutter is 180 and 24fps ,build 16. File is 11-12MB. Thanks!!! works best in safari

the bottom dark spot moves with the guy. It's probably his shadow. Did you have a boom guy? Is the top dark spot the boom guy's shadow?

?
I saw a fly buzzing around.
The dark band looks like the shadow from the man.
Watch him move and the dark band goes with him.
I would have moved around to the left a bit
so you would not have that big old white
fridge in the middle of your actors.
The guy is out of focus for a usable
two shot anyway.
Did you shoot a reverse close-up of the man?

no boom guy. I have other shots from the same set up that show the same problem. A reverse boom shot, high ang, shows this effect all over the wal paper. I see what you mean about the shadow. this effect is all over the shot. watch his shirt cycle with the fridge as you scroll though it. Thanks!

unless you have a magnetic ballast you can't guarantee that 180 degree shutter will not show scrolling lines with HMIs or flourescents. Turn the shutter to 144 (1/60) and if the problem instantly goes away then it was for sure the 60 hz light refresh not matching up with the camera. 1/40th and 1/30th also work in places with 60 hz refresh rates.

Just looked at the clip and that's for sure what it is. Try 1/60th next time or 1/30th.
