I've been using their Wasp 100-C for corporate interview shoots for a while now and I've been really happy with everything except the output as a key light. Really excited to try out this new model which they claim has 2.5x the brightness.

They are super compact and being able to tune the color to whatever I want has helped with motivated rim lights from practicals in the background.

Yeah we're stoked for the 200-C as well (and the 50).

We use 100-C's, and like them.

The wireless DMX on these new lights may really come in handy.

They look nice, although the 200 is 150w and the 50 is 40w. So it will be interesting to compare the actual output to the DS1 (140w depending on colour) and see how they really compare.

I still can't justify loosing the HMIs yet as much as i'd like too

cheers
Paul

Anyone has used the fresnel attachment on the 100-C? I plan to order the 200-C soon but can't decide between the super spot reflector or the fresnel.

It really depends on what you want the light to look like.

I've been using the 100-C with the reflector for 6 months. I think it's amazing. I also have a softbox for it.

I would have probably purchased a fresnel attachment for it months ago but I decided to hold off until the final announcement of the new lights.

Personally I think you should get as many accessories as you can afford for these lights. I used my reflector as often as my softbox if I had the fresnel I would probably use it a lot too. And once you start using a few of the units being able to mix and match these lighting accessories really lets you create a dynamic lighting setup just with these lights alone.

I mostly use the PAR reflectors and a mini source 4 spot on my 100-Cs, as I found the output of the 100-c is quite limiting in practical use with softboxes. That's why I didn't get the fresnel attachment, but I'm considering it again with the 200-C's doubled output.

I really regret that I had invested in Broncolor for my stills lighting, might switch to Profoto soon so I don't have to keep lots of speedring and can have many more options for to light both my stills and film work.

Any chance of a Group Buy? I'm looking for an excuse to be bumped from admirer to owner.
