Hiring an artist/band - Question

[Clayton Taylor]

Ok... So, I understand the process for licensing an already existing song for your film... My question is how would one get in touch with a band, or an artist, to hire them to record an original song for your film? Do you scour the net looking for their manager? Is their an easier way?

I'd think depends on how big the band is.

Indie bands that are on social media, I'd reach directly out to them. For someone like Todd T's favorite singer (who I'm sure he would just die if he met her , I think you go through their agent.

This is all my opinion as I haven't had to hire any major bands, but I've worked directly with (indie) composers for some new tracks & that was just direct contact.
