  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hint...

Taking your time to get as bulletproof as the larger market demands is completely understandable. I am looking forward to what is coming but until then, thank you for the Red One. It is taking beautiful images and the path we've walked has been an interesting one.

Great. Oct 31st is my birthday.

What amazes me is that we're going to see RED as a company quadruple (or more)in size in a matter of mere months. The logistical, business, manufacturing, and human resource challenges associated with this phenomenal growth are astounding. My hope is that may the force be with you. Because we are hungry for our cameras :-)

3 Years ago I made a post predicting that RED will be in a position to buyout Sony in a couple of years time. This was laughed at. This may or may not be true, but what rings true is that this company is about to take a deep dive into open sea waters with a very lean, mean and efficient team. No shareholders to please, No divisions to appease.

And I cant wait to see it all unfold. And I cant wait to own scarlet.

Your hint is good enough...should be fine, thanks Jim

Thanks for giving us a date to look forward to; the natives are getting restless around these parts as of late.

i think il book off work for the 30th lol. holy crap i cant wait. But like so many other ppl the delays are ok because i need the time to work up the cash for the cam.....but im still takin the 30th off.

We do have a plan for complete testing in this community, just different than the 1st time around.

Is this testing going to be open to anyone who wants to, or just the RED ONE owners? Because some of us have been with RED from the dvxuser days but weren't in the position to be able to buy the camera...

Thanks for the updates. The geek in me will miss the ride in the great wide open. But from a business perspective I totally understand and support this decision.

That said, if you need an Epic X beta-tested in harsh, cold weather, let us know.

I know they're probably going to want people who were active in the early days of RED and are current RED owners... but in case the guys and gals at RED are wanting to look outside that group, I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. As a photojournalist it would be really neat to try and see how it works in the sort of situations I work in a lot- news and sports journalism with a bit of feature-y stuff mixed in.

Hey Jim.

I understand the philosophy change, and think it is wise...

But what about us breaknecks that would love to once again jump into beta land?

I'm here....

Yep. That was half the fun of owning a <#300 number....
Would not mind doing it again.

Jochen
