  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hint...

Hehe. It was an 86 VW Golf how did you know? :D

Hehehe :) I can see it's also been a long wait for you :) We can put it for sale on craigslist around halloween :)

BTW I had an 85 Jetta, and it gave me huge headaches by the end of the decade .. Oh my, I just realized I'm getting old! :)

Oct. 30th is not the cutoff date to buy a RED ONE. That wouldn't be fair. RED ONE owners will have priority over non-RED ONE owners for priority.

Jim

just an innocent question

how about Reduser and Scarletuser those who dont have red but waiting for scarlet from long are they gona have any priority over non users ?

By the way Jannard, if you are giving 1st preff to RED one owners. I feel penalased for not having the funding to buy a RED when in came out. :)

The thing is, Jim doesn't owe you or me anything, and the only reason why he's giving RED One owners priority, is cause Jim is just that kind and gracious to existing RED customers.

Personally I think the waiting list for Scarlet should be in order of post count on Scarletuser.com (taken from a date before the announcement of that fact in order to avoid people artificially inflating their figures). :biggrinjester:

Though that would put me 2nd on the list next to Peter Majtan...I'd have to disagree unfortunately.

Taliking about Scarletuser, I used to post around there, but since all news appeared here first, I found no use to go there anymore. Scarletuser will be a good site after the camera is released, for specific discussions about the cam- it will have a much broader market than the Epic and Red One. Probably Red should simply use the Scarlet subforum here for simple Faqs, troubleshooting and "sticky" news, while announcements, firmwares, product announcements and direct costumer service and communication by the red team should migrste over to scarletuser.com...

Actually you're third after Peter Majtan (Who has nearly twice as many posts as everyone else AND has his post count dropped to Zero at his request after he had about 800 posts, if I remember correctly) and Granty (from Liverpool!).

I'm 12th (13th if you include Yannick)

Let's not underplay the role Scarletuser.com had in Scalet's development. We were probably the main source of customer feedback.

In it's hayday we had a workflow section going strong and info aout how to expose Reds and such.

A lot of the folks on Scarletuser are better informed than many over here on Reduser. Much of that is thanks to Peter Majtan of course!

But then the delays hit badly and despite the best attempts to keep it going it felt a bit like :beatdeadhorse5: especially when Reduser got it's own Scarlet section.

I really can't wait for Scarlet 2/3" fixed, Red images never cease to amaze me, even more when it's my Red I expect.

I didn't count Granty/ProductBE because he labeled himself an "Ex-ScarletUser"..."since RED have taken on a Sony secrecy policy, yawn!"

Hi,

They could just auction the first 1000 cameras.

Nooo... I never post over there anymore - I think RED owners should get the first crack, and then people who joined this forum in 2007 or before !

Priorities...

Jim

Jim,

Would the 1 to 1,000 R-1 series have priority for the Epic X upgrade? :hurray:

Respectfully,

Hey! Well Its nice to be in the top ten poster on SU. I do tend to spend most of my time over here at the moment. I am not a member of any other forum apart from RED/SU. Don't have time to just post all over the web. I prob have few memberships here and there where I have posted to ask a question.

Never bothered with forums until RED came to be...and even then I was floating around reading for about two years on RED User before I became a member. Was no point joining because I wouldn't be able to afford one.

Then the Scarlet was announced and I joined...both.

If I recall it was W. (The Oliver Stone film). He went a ranting...

It all got a bit political shall we say.

That's not necessarily the only reason. Redone had a very formal reservation policy. I don't know how high the serial numbers went but at NAB 2006 when we placed our order we were given a Titanium R that had our serial number on it.

Redone was promoted as "making obsolescence obsolete" and then RED realized it wasn't all that feasible with the R1 platform and so the full credit trade-in to Epic-X was created. IIRC it has been stated that Epic-X delivery order would follow the original SNs but even if it hasn't I think that it is pretty strongly implied based on the original policy.

:smiley:So all you newbies: The line forms to the rear!

9 days and counting 'til the announcement!
