fessionalits putting things in the menu system that change absolutely nothing that creates problems for people.
Heres an example. A few years back I had a Japanese client that were producing images for a hot new display. Japan is on NTSC 29.97 and when they went HD they wanted everything at 59.94. That became their HD standard. The Japanese wanted the entire job delivered at the 59.94 (60P) time base. This is a very sharp very videoish time base that produces the kind of images you see on sports events, tv news and baseball games.
So what did I do? I went in, adjusted my timebase to 60p (59.94 which is just 29.97x2) and shot the job that way. No motion blur, etc
so that I'd why it is in the menu system, so that you can turn your camera something else, to make it more flexible and to not force you to rent other camera for certain jobs. It's the same reason 25p is there, for like, when you shoot in Europen countiris.
Now some people figured out timebase workarounds for their dslrs to shoot 60 frames and then interpolate that as 24 frames to create slo motion. Let's leave that in the dslr realm. It does not apply with these versatile professional cameras.
