hey all,

I am finished up with my current project. I am now willing to rent my well equipped red to a pro. No daily rentals, sorry.

PM me for more info.

Hey Zack, you may want to rewrite what you are saying so it is easier to understand what you are saying. Sentences like "I am willing to rent for the amount of my payment to someone who knows what the heck they are doing." make absolutely no sense.

Matthew

Yeah Zak,
You're spending more time talking about who you DON'T want to rent to than listing your equipment, more details about what you're offering, and maybe what kind of people you DO want to rent to (a day rate would help).

I feel like I have to apologize to you... yet I have no clue who you are... not sure if you've thought about your post enopugh.

Is your Red One a 24kt limited edition or do you just keep the sensor reeeeeealy clean and made sure it never got dropped on the floor?

There are at least 500 R1s in LA, and at least a few hundred with all the trimmings adjustments and special sauces available... at least a few dozen of them owned by people who also own other top end stuff... from full sets of Cookes and Ultra Primes, to techno cranes and helicopter mounts, 5-ton trucks and state of the art post facilities.

My point is that your marketing might not be serving you well... all I got from it is that you might not be someone I'd want to have a beer with and that your Red must be in great shape...

Just my non-pro, don't know what the heck I am doing, indie-kid two cents... best of luck man.

Do I understand this right, Zacktown?
You are willing to let somebody have the benefit of using your equipment in exchange for paying your monthly lease & insurance to XYZ company plus some, while it still remains your property. Why would anybody want to do this and not get their own lease on a camera?

people, please, let him be.

if you don't like what he said or how he said it, don't rent from him. maybe what he meant to say came out wrong in your mind, but I am sure he did not mean it that way. the problem with writing is that you can't hear tone, so, for the non professional writer (like me) the message does not always come out the way it was intended. I think I know what he means, he is just saying that his package is more a cine package (pl lenses, follow focus, expensive tripod) versus some other packages i have seen here that use nikon mount, dv tripods, dv accessories, etc. different clientele.

please, let's not be so sensitive. live and let live...

I think he is bluffing, if he had Ultra Primes or S4's he would mention it, not a middle of the road tripod.

Zacktown, what's your RED One's serial number? I always like to know the serial number before I rent a RED. You know, not all R1s are the same. But you can call me "picky" just the same.

OMG! I just read all of this stuff. Geez some of you people are bitter! I didn't think anyone was offering a red for rent for the amount of the payment (much cheaper than other rentals houses) so I was just trying to be nice to all of the people that just wanted to use a camera for a month without taking on a 24 month obligation. You know, the whole reason there are equipment rental businesses in the first place. So while all of you bitter folks make nasty posts, I go on with my business making a profit.

Good luck with your attitudes, I haven't seen it work in 25 years, but maybe this year I will be wrong.

For the others that were honestly trying to help me market my camera, I thank you.

Maybe I am unique in that my camera can sit in the corner of my office an gather dust and it won't affect me financially. I was just saying, "hey, I have a stand alone setup that is basically brand new and I can offer to rent it here since I used to think of reduser as a friendly collaborative community.". I had the exact same deal with a Digibeta years ago. I rented it out to people that would make the payment, but due to future uncertainties they did not want the longterm payment obligation. I made money, and they got a cheap short term lease. Pretty simple to me.

if you cant afford your "payments" to pay off your red.. then you 110% should NOT have a RED....

good luck!

then I guess you guys don't try to rent cameras? You just bought them to put in your closet? Are you telling me that if you don't rent your equipment, that you can afford it? This post makes no sense.

that is simple, because they only want to make ONE payment and not 24. Get it?

Using your logic. Why would ANYONE EVER RENT ANYTHING???
