Will not be available until Red releases their PL to RF electronic ND mount adapter.

You can use the Transvideo Metadator monitor or Master Lockit Plus to record the lens data externally and then merge in post. or possibly a arri wcu-4 lens controller, but I don't think it was ever updated to support XD data.

Just want to chime in and say smart lens data is pretty critical for virtual production work, which is a huge use case.

Jarred has said Red does not want to be a software company, meanwhile Arri has written their own plugins for Unreal.

Most XR applications use Arri, 8k or more than 60fps does not really help you shooting an XR wall, and easier integration with arri.

Nobody really cares about zeiss XD data, you have lens profiles with the shading data, you just need FIZ data.

While I hate extra boxes and cables, there are ways to use Raptor for XR or recording lens metrics for VFX.

DCS make a little box that will connect to a preston/etc and stream lens metrics into unreal or record to csv sidecar for post vfx.
There are others too, but the DCS box was also able to connect to dsmc2 and store that data into the R3d itself using the element technica 3d protocol - unfortunately this does not work on DSMC3. You can also just just use Arri WCU4 lens controller to stream to unreal.

On the LF its much simpler, lens data is just embedded into the sdi output so you can just strip it off directly from the decklink card in unreal.

Raptor doesn't even display lens data on the monitor overlay like dsmc2 did, so they have a ways to go.

I've already written a piece of software that lets you get data (through RCP) into Unreal Engine (www.realityfield.xyz.) so I'm good there. I can even get some basic lens data with Canon lenses, like focal length and aperture. Just would love to have lens data from PL lenses as well, for larger projects.
