i would like to upgrade my redcam!i have build 15,and i have bean downloaded 16 and17 from net;but i am not sure for the proces of upgrading!i put file on 512mb sd net and put it in red but i cant open file on sd card???

Unzip the file with the new build. Copy the folder called "upgrade" and everything therein to the root of the CF card. Put the CF card in your Red One, switch power on and follow the instructions and answer "yes" to the questions that appear. Furthermore, make sure the battery won't run empty while you upgrade the firmware. It takes about 5 minutes.

For some reason the SD card doesn't seem to work for upgrades after build 15. You have to use a CF card.

i think that is the problem because i use sd card with build 16;-((( thans very much everybody!

should i use only red cf card or can i bay something cheeper??to update my red?

I did all updates via the SD Card, no problem at all. Just follow the steps as they are written in the manual.

A cheaper CF Card should probably work for updates, but not for recording or for black shading since you need a formatted card for that process, and if the speed is to slow, the camera rejects formatting the card.
