I'm new in RED so I relally need some help. (sorry for my english, it is not my mother tongue)

On set, we are working on RED one cameras but recording on P2 panasonic. Frame rate is 50fps all the time and I was told that it is not possible to change it to 25 fps. So now when I work with their material in Final cut, audio is not synchronized and if I convert frame rate to 25fps I have slow motion.

What to do? aparently P2 panasonic and RED one is not compatible and maybe that is the problem. But can we fix it then?

thank you

So what I get from set is

compressor: DVCPRO HD 720p50
data rate: 14,5 mbs
frame size: 960x720
pixel aspect: HD 960x720
video rate: 50fps

You can record 50 fps on Red, but not at full frame (4K). The possible rates an sizes are in the ops manual.

OTOH, our Panasonic can record 25 fps, but it's an European model. Are you using a US model?

Uli

thanx for reply

how do you do this? and with what equipments? i thought you could only record red in CF or RED Drive? is it from the HD-SDI tap?

This is really odd!

Why would you want to do this anyway? Shoot CF, Shoot Red Drive @ desired FPS Xfer, simple!

Hmm... I think that Suzi might mean that they're using Panasonic cameras alongside red cameras...

Suzi, if you want to try posting in your native tongue, someone on here will translate... that way we can have the best chance of understanding your problems.

Do you think she might mean that they are shooting to RED and then batch converting to DVCPro HD through compressor @ 50hz?

Still doesn't make sense to shoot at 50fps though! Hey Suzi Myktyl is right give us as much info a pos if any language and we'll give it a shot, this forum is international.

Yes, sure, I speak German, French and Spanish and use a Red One as well as a HVX-200, so go ahead.
