I downloaded the Red plugin (the most recent version) for Final Cut
Pro 7 and installed it. I confirmed that it did install because in the the
Log and Transfer window I can see the Red Digital Redcode in the
preferences pull down window. However when I browse to the Red footage on
my RAID and try to bring the R3D file into Final Cut's Log and Transfer
window to convert it to Pro res 422 HQ- the R3D file is "grayed" out and I
cannot access it. Rather it imports the entire RDC folder which Log and
Transfer cannot ingest.
What am I doing wrong? I read the White Paper thoroughly and followed all
the instructions. According to the paper I should be able to select the
R3D file in the Log and Transfer window and if I selected convert to Pro
Res 422 HQ in the preferences window then Final Cut should import the R3D file and convert it to Pro
res 422 HQ. Where it should show up in my project window as a useable file
within Final Cut.
I am running Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro. Version 10.6.8
Processor: 2 X 2.8 GHZ Quadcore Intel Xeon
Memory: 10 GB 800 MHZ DDR 2 F8-DIMM
I would appreciate any help on this process. Thank you,
