Hello from Aus!

Just got the Teradek RT CTRL.3 / MDRX system - so far very pleased with it, integrates perfectly with the SmallHD Cine TX/RX.

Only issue I'm having relates to camera control on Red Gemini - system becomes unresponsive/erratic when the camera control cable (RT-24-0341) is connected.

Both Gemini and Teradek RT are running latest firmware, and setup for RCP. I'm sure I've just overlooked some settings ;)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Pete

I also am having difficulties with the older RT motion 3.1 controller with my Gemini. Start stop not working with MDR-M but does work with the Latitude. Camera settings radomly change ie iso changes, fps etc. Spoke with RED and Teradex. RED had an RT at their shop and have experienced the same issue Start Stop not working. Not sure if Teradex and Red are working on the solution but it is a bummer for sure.

Hey Mike, I'm having a similar experience with MDRX - random ISO change, sluggish response with camera setting changes.....

I have the same erratic behavior with a MK3.1 controller and Latitude on Monstro.

Rec start/stop is toggling one image half of the time, and as soon as I use deep camera control, it is laggy as hell.

Thanks Mike. I logged a support ticket with Teradek last week.

I experienced the same thing on my older MK3.1 and Latitude and was hoping it would be resolved by the CTRL3 + MDRX.

Hopefully Teradek can sort out soon.

Hey guys,

We're aware of the issue and Support / Engineering are looking into it. Hope to have an update this week.

Thanks for the update Mike!

Also have issues with the battery door latch on CTRL3 - near impossible to open!

Whenever my ISO randomly changes its because the AC bumps the wheels on the left side of the controller. you ca turn that function off BTW.

This is a common issue. This wheel should not be the default setting, Teradex needs to fix this or they will continue to get complaints.

But yes, its an easy fix just turn it off or re assign the control. Why this is defined by default to control ISO is nuts.

Hey guys, the random ISO changes occur even when controller is not being handled.

I have the same issue. There are two set screws on the latch I removed them and by pushing on the latch it rotated enough to get the door open. Upon inspecting the latch does not completely retrieve and will catch the inside of the battery compartment. I compressed the spring and latch completely then with some 600 grit sand paper very lightly sanded the latch the protruded above the door. Took my time sanding and the trying the door. After a few try's I was able to get the latch to work. I reset the latch by locating it as far down on the door as I could that allowed it to function properly then tighten the screws. Once that was done I realized that the door also rubs on the inside of the battery compartment causing it to not open freely. I haven't tried to resolve this yet. Hoping Teradek will let us send these in to remedy that as it seems more than just some sanding to fix this. I can now open the door although it will take two fingers one two activate the latch and the other to pull the door towards you to open it. This will be bad in cold weather shooting with frozen fingers. I hope they let us send these back and repair them for us so the door on the battery functions properly.

Hello, I would like to buy a Wireless Lens Control Systems. I have Red Weapon Helium. I don't know which one to buy. The ARRI WIRELESS COMPACT UNIT WCU-4/REG or TERADEK RT CTRL.3 DLX WRLS LENS CNTRL KIT/9'/REG . What do you think? Thank you so much for your help. Have a great day, Best, Jerome
