  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Help with IPP2 workflow, compared to Helium - what settings to use?

So I am used to the Helium, which has ipp2 in camera and I generally just then monitor with a red ipp2 to 709 lut, and apply that in post.

I recently picked up a Raven, and noticed it's legacy and different. What's the color workflow that I should be using to be close as possible to what I do in the Helium?

1. In the menu, image pipeline, should it be redwidegamut and log3g10? Or should be it 709 and log3g10?

2. I know the Raven can't have a 3D lut to monitor, but any setting in camera that gives me as close as possible to 709? the above?

3. In post, what is the correct lut to apply to the footage that came out of the camera? I am used to doing the Ipp2 to 709 red luts, but in this case they don't seem to work well since it is legacy - so do I just need a standard 709 lut? Does red have a regular 709, non ipp2 lut?

Thank you, any other workflow suggestions I'd love to hear!

Thiago,

I don't own a Red camera, but Phil Holland from his website PHFX.com suggests these settings.
