Hi guys.

This is the story:

My editor has the musicvideo in FCP. He edited it using the R3D proxys. (M)
We now want to color grade it in Color. I don´t have the new color 1.5.

The shots we have is a mix between 1K, 2K and 4K.

My editor suggested to send it to crimson, make an XML, open this in REDCINE, reink it to the original R3D files, and export it to ProRes, take this back to FCP and send it to Color.

This is probably a very heavy way to do it.
Any suggestions that would make this easier?

We are going to master it to a quicktime file in the end. 2K, maybe HD.

Palron,

What Vigen says is correct. Just send to Color. Color will use 2K data from the R3D, regardless of your mix of 1, 2, and 4K. Your Color project will use the size of your FCP timeline, so make sure you set it to 2K either in FCP before sending to Color, or in Color before you reset the Geometry.
