Help requested with Small HD monitor control kit for Komodo with Expander

Help requested with Small HD monitor control kit for Komodo with Expander. If I order the Small HD focus Pro kit for Komodo, the kit ships with the 9 pin Lemo to 5 pin USB on the monitor, however the Komodo expander requires a 4 PIN Lemo ctrl to 5 pin USB monitor cable. So it looks like I will need two cables, depending on if I'm using the expander module. Does the Small HD software talk to the Komodo expender module? Do I need the DSMC 2 kit to get the correct cable. It seems unclear what I will need for both scenarios. Would a Komodo user with a similar configuration be able to help clarify? I search the forum, but don't see very much information on the expander, or it's protocol. I haven't seen a RED manual for it either? Thanks very much!

Hi Michael, I recently asked SmallHD about this exact question using the Indie 7. You can use this cable - https://smallhd.com/products/dsmc2-cable-36 from your monitor and plug the 4pin into the ctrl port of your expander, then attach your expander normally into the Komodo. Haven't seen this in my hands as of yet, but have been told it works.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the link to the DSMC2 cable! So I will order the Komodo package and get their 9-pin to 5 pin plus Komodo control software, plus this extra cable, then I can switch back and forth, when using the expander module or not.
