My RED is between 1750-2000 and I'm getting really nervous. I want to find a really lightweitht system. I'm buying a Chrosziel FF (one side) and Petroff or Chrosziel mattebox. Also I'm buying a 2060 O'Connor, so anything I buy must
fit this head.

Are 15mm rod systems lighter than 19mm?
Anyone tried Zacuto solutions for Red, are they a good option,
anyone tried it?

Maybe Element Technica accesories with Ultra Rods are a better option.
What do you think REDUSERS?

Thanks.

I would go with a 19mm set up. You don't need the conversion part to adapt to 15mm rods therefore your camera setup will be slightly lighter. A 15mm camera set up is off set from the center of the camera, where as the 19mm set up is completely symmetrical and in line with the lens and body of the camera. If you need a lighter set up, go with the Carbon Pro rods RED has.

Where are you based ? If in the US, on the West Coast Studio 15mm offset is the standard, while on the East Coast, 19mm is the standard. Elsewhere, 19mm is more common, but check your local rental shops.

Are you talking about studio 15mm (offset) or lightweight 15mm (60mm apart) ? The difference between 15 and 19mm rod weight is not very much, what is most common in your area is the important factor.

Aside from that, you don't need to be too worried with a 2060, it's if you had a 1030 you would be limited.

Cheers,
Damien

Hi guys

I'm in Spain. I'll look for the standard here. I think the Red 19mm
setups are too big and heavy. I'll go for a full 15mm. (60mm apart)
system, with Ultrarods from Element Technica.
