I need to replace the Birger EOS mount with the original RED PL mount. I have the instructions from Birger for removing the PL mount and installing the EOS mount - do I just work in reverse or are there any other factors I need to know/beware of?

Seems pretty straight forward from what I remember (did not install the mount, but bought one then sold it).
Unscrew all the mounting hardware on the Birger, unhook the cable, make sure the cable on the RED is in the routed out channel. Put the PL mount back on. And make sure the cable is in the channel before tightening the bolts.
So, ya, just the reverse of installation...

The most important thing is to be very careful with the lens data cable. I find a few peices of strategically and very tiny double sided tape helps to kepp it seated correctly as it winds around the back of the PL mount and prevents it becoming pinched. Something that will NOT be covered by warranty and could seriously harm the camera. Also covering the sensor is wise to prevent damage. I have a custom cutout that will not touch the olpf but still covers it. Overall it is pretty easy and self explanatory. It takes about 10-15 minutes but the first time maybe longer. Just be super careful and be aware that this was never intended by Red to be a user adjustable feature in their designing the mount.
