Not sure what is going on here but footage we shot yesterday on the Epic in 5K HD is looking supper jaggy and low resolution. It was not noticeable when playing back on monitor but when brought into Redcine and viewed at full resolution you can see something very funky is going on. Compression was 8:1
here is a link for a trimmed r3D.....

any suggestions? (opening a ticket with RED right now)

all clips that were shot until we turned off the camera and changed battery...after that the clips are fine....

no. nothing was changed. All shot with same lenses, same card, same settings, same everything. as a matter fact the battery wasn't even changed... we shut the camera down while setting up for the next scene that's all....after that all the shots are beautiful....

I don't know what happened. If it was a black shading issues you would think the rest of the footage shot that day would also be affected. Yet only 30 or so clips are bad. the stuff shot the rest of the day looks perfect. Either way, the RED team came to the rescue and provided a temporary fix to salvage the footage. The guys at RED are simply amazing!!!!

I'm fairly certain that's not a black shading issue. Glad it was salvageable! Please share the temporary fix Maz.

RED gave us a temporary special piece of software that was able to fix and debayer the broken footage properly. Sorry can't share much more than that. We are still going to send our camera for evaluation though.

I had the same issue. Sent log files to RED but they said they couldn't find any issues. Cost me 8 grand in reshoots. I could have used the special software. Thanks RED!
