I may have painted myself into a corner, but I'm hoping someone with a little more experience can help me out.

Here's the background - I edited a piece back in September for a client. At that time our workflow consisted of rendering everything to ProRes HQ, doing an online edit and then color correction in Color. Since that time we have moved to editing with Proxies for the rough and then doing a L&T to QT wrapped Red files on the media managed project, then Send To Color for CC so we can access the RAW data.

The client came back a few weeks ago and needed us to repurpus part of the original piece for a new video that would be presented in two weeks. Because of the time crunch I simply took the sections of the old piece and moved them into the new piece and then proceeded with our current workflow - editing the new sections that we shot with proxies.

My picture is now locked and I'm ready to color correct. My question/problem is this - can I export an XML of my current sequence and then replace the ProRes files from the old edit with Proxies, bring that new XML into FCP, do a L&T to Red QT's and then send to Color?

In my mind it seems like there should be a way to achieve this... any one have thoughts on how I might go about doing this?

Or if there's another way to get to the raw data from the old files in a different method, I'm all ears.
