Hi All

We were shooting a music promo and the DOP shot at 29.97 frame rate base line instead of 25. The problem is we were shooting double spped lip syncs shot at 50fps. For some reason the stuff shot at 25 frames looks extra fast.

Does anyone know why this is and can offer a solution as I'm using CS4 to edit. Hoping there might be a frame rate converter which I can slow or speed up the footage without loosing quality.

Thanks!

If you shot everything at 50 fps or 25 fps on a 29.97 fps time base then there is not really a problem. You just have to make sure CS4 reads the file as a 25 fps time base. I think you can do that by going to 'interpret footage' and then choose 'assume this frame rate' and fill in 25.

You can use "Cinema Tools" to change the setting of processed QT files - very useful application for this.

This is most likely because it's playing back at 29.97. Another option you have is to bring the files into RedCine and set the frame rate to 25 and export from there.
